Catch up

In the past two weeks I have been home 2 1/2 days. Needless to say, our pantry is completely empty and I will be going to the store today. Here's what I've been up to!

First trip was to Lubbock for a wonderful dance recital and a rekindling of old friendships and forgiveness. I love going home for recital and being consumed by costumes, lipstick, and hairspray. My favorite are the little babies with huge tutus and bows on their tap shoes. At the Sat morning show Mrs. Karla told one of the babies (4 years old) she looked beautiful and her reply
"Thanks, its SO hard to put eyeshadow on in the morning!" Oh yes honey. We know.

On the road there were some amazing storm clouds and blue skies and green pastures. I absolutely love the drive out to Lubbock through north Texas, if not for the highway you could be in a time a hundred years ago. I'm surprised pictures turn out at 80 miles an hour...

So after this was the whole sickness incident where Meagan and Dan saved my life. They not only did not kick me out after throwing up 11 times between 11 pm and 4:30 am, they took me to the doctor. Thankfully Brian was able to get out of work to get down to take me back. Still have no idea what caused this. So I laid around the house the next two days to get ready for our next trip - family wedding!

My cousin Robert got married to a sweet girl, Lauren. She really is so wonderful and perfect for him. It's a good thing she is laid back because the wedding had the potential to be a disaster. The power was out at the planned church because of very intense storms earlier in the week and they had to pick a new church and reception hall the day of. I would have been the bride from hell, she handled everything beautifully and the wedding was almost without a hitch. I have no idea how she did it.
So I completely embarrassed my husband which does not happen very often, its the other way around. The church was full so we opted to stand in the back. As they start to kiss nobody starts clapping. Hello! Celebration! Wedding! The kiss is the seal of the deal in the ceremony! So after about 3 or 4 seconds I let out a big hoop and holla (call me I will reenact) as loud as I can. Half the church slowly turns around to see who did that and there we are, the only ones standing in the very back. My mom whipped around cause she knew it was me and starts cracking up and telling all the relatives she's sitting next proudly that it was me. The other half that was too shocked start clapping, probably only to keep me quiet.
I got to cut the cake which I love because you never have to worry about not getting a piece. Best grooms cake - Old school Nintendo controller. I wonder if its too late to warn her about my family.....

I love getting the four of us together, we have so much fun and I miss picking on my brother. The next day was a BBQ for the other side of my family and we had more fun than we've had in a long time. While this picture is from last year, you get the idea. We love OK because it allows us to not miss any family functions and be around all the little ones growing up. Luckily one was born in January so we didn't get the baby questions this trip, I don't expect to have the same luck at Christmas...

  2. HAHAHA!!! I think it is awesome that you hollared at the wedding, that your mom bragged about you to everyone around her, and the other half of the guests looked shocked. Awesome. :)

Glad you are loving living in OK. I know it's not Texas, but it's not bad either. :) It is wonderful that you can be close to your family!
