Advice Please!

Ok long story short (very short) - I need to finish school. My initial plans of taking classes online fell through so my options have changed, as well as my degree. I now have to finish with a general studies degree if I want to finish at Tech. I need to pick from english, history, or human development and family studies.

1. English - I clepped out of all my english, I've had enough reading and writing. But I already have 9 hours that would count towards the 18 I need.

2. History - I hate history. But again I would have 9 hours to count towards the 18. But I hate history.

3. HDFS - I think I would enjoy HDFS classes, I looked through the catalog and have interest in all the classes. But I would be starting from scratch to get 18 hours.

SO here is my dilema - do I suck it up and finish ASAP with classes I would hate or do I admit defeat and take classes I would like and accept the fact I'm not going to finish until I'm 30?

  1. always study something you love. i have an english lit degree, but i love it, so i don't mind. if you won't like taking those classes, you'll never want to do your work and will then probably not do as well as you'd like to do. just my two cents. it will also be harder to do something you don't love with a bambino taking away your time.

  2. i agree! You should do what you'll enjoy. School sucks no matter what, so it will help if you are doing what you like... even if you'll be there a little longer! Good luck!

  3. Definitely go with something you love since you'll be finishing it with a baby!! Also, I recommend doing it ASAP, while Chase is still really little (ie: before he's walking). I was able to finish my degree right as Ellie began walking and I was so thankful since life got a whole lot more interesting at that point. Granted, that's not always possible and regardless - you'll have late night studying, but it feels good having it done before it really took my needed attention from Miss-Thing. :)
