That Crazy Cousin

I don't know why but when I'm at Danhof family events I feel the urge to do something embarrassing/wild/crazy. Flashback to my cousin's wedding last summer and my cattle call during their big kiss...I had the pleasure of attending two Danhof events this past weekend, Alyssa's high school graduation and Jennifer's Sweet 16. Two many snooty people at the Christian private school graduation, figured I'd better behave or they would kick me out. I was beginning to feel restless.

Finally came time to go to the birthday party where there would be dancing. Of course I knew about 2% of the songs they were playing and spent lots of time learning new dacne moves from the kids but there came a time when I looked at my favorite cousin-in-law Lauren and said "let's dance." As her brother was the DJ we could pick any song we wanted. Hows disco sound? YMCA? Brickhouse? No not good enough. Let's scare the little children.

My cousin Jennifer did not speak to me after that, whether its because of the song choice of because she was busy being a social butterfly I do not know. I love you Lauren, looking forward to the next family event.
