Parasite

I've had so much I've wanted to blog about but me and baby have not been cool. Before I start my soap box lets get a few things straight....
1. yes this was a surprise, in fact we were trying NOT to get pregnant
2. we have accepted God's plan (kind of, ongoing battle)
4. due date mid August
3. I don't want to be judged as a pansy nor do I want sympathy

I have been sick. Not morning sickness here and there but throwing up 9-10 times a day on up to 6 prescribed medications while losing about 15 lbs in 3 weeks. 6 trips to the ER and 2 stints in the hospital have left me grateful for Tricare. But finally I got a Dr. with a brain who said something other than "well everyone gets sick their first trimester go home" and talked to me about seriously changing my diet to account for some crazy change in my insulin and I have been eating for 3 days now (record). So while I walk like an 80 year old woman and going to get the mail wears me out, I am quickly recovering and look forward to joining the human race again. By the way, baby has been fine. I never once worried about the baby because I knew that God would take care of everything and that was a huge comfort because I am a natural worrier (plenty of time for that later). Already had 5 sonograms and heard the heartbeat. When trying to get the heartbeat the baby kept moving away and the nurse said "get ready, this thing has a mind of its own already." Yes we know.

  2. oh get ready Brit, when you're pregnant...EVERYTHING that could possibly be wrong with you is answered with "that's because you're pregnant". Pink Eye? That's because you're pregnant. Broken Arm? Well, that's because you're pregnant. Sore throat, runny nose, migraine....DUH! It's because you're pregnant. People always think you're just a wuss. I remember when I was like, 7 month preggo with Hallie I start having HORRIBLE back pain...like I felt like my lungs were being punctured and the act of breathing was going to kill me. I went to the ER, the nurse looked at me like I was an idiot, and she said "honey, didn't you know you get back pain when you're pregnant?" I wanted to punch her out. ANYWAYS! I'm glad you're eating again and you found an OB who will take you seriously. I'm excited for you guys!
