Sometime between then and now Chase turned into a loud little boy...
Who learned how to pick up a ball like Ranger...
Whose mom accidentally taught him how to blow dandelions....
Which turned our yard into this...
You missed a double ear infection with a crazy fever brought on by teething...while Brian was TDY of course
A trip to the ER to get a cut glued up (that glue stuff is amazing by the way, wish they had that when I was a kid!) It was a fun night because our Aunt Merrisa came with us and blew up all the gloves into blue turkeys.
And a new ability to hear airplanes in 1 in every 5 pictures. I think he'll get tired of it when we move on a pilot training base.
Somewhere in the madness was Easter! We had a great, uneventful Easter at home and went to church three days in a row, not complaining it was awesome! It feels like every holiday we would end up in Texas and it was so great to get to spend our last Easter with our OK church family. But who needs pictures of that? It's all about dying the eggs.
We have video of Chase throwing his egg into the dye, he got banned to the cookie table with dad.
We visited an animal refuge with lots of tigers and Brian and Chase were dumb enough to feed one of them.
Speaking of big animals, we visited a Clydesdale Barn. They were all hanging out in their stalls so it wasn't super exciting, although the barn wasn't a barn by my standards. Each horse had a ceiling fan to keep them cool, multiple chandeliers, and the floor was clean. Ready for my new claim to fame?? These Clydesdale's pulled Will and Kate when they were visiting Canada. Be jealous.
Big barn for a big animal. The picture doesn't show how big they were.
Aunt Merrisa came to OK for a visit! I secretly hate her for her long legs.
All ready to fly the plane but I don't think he could reach the pedals.
We tried a round of miniature golf. After looking like a pro for the pictures he started stealing our balls and running away.
Being the procrastinator that I am, we have done lots of things we should have done the past three years. Here's our trip to the botanical gardens, Brian had just come home from a long TDY and Chase was enjoying every minute.
There were hundreds of butterflies (that managed to escape every photo) but it was fun anyways.
When he's not being loud he can be super sweet, I'm milking it now because I know soon I'll hear "Eww mom."
And judging by those wrinkles on my forehead that day is very soon....
They have an artsy playground at the gardens, Chase wasn't sure what to think of it, what good is a ball if it's stuck to the ground?
Time to recharge with a power nap....
We've had fun times with our friend Shellianne (airplane).
Of course we've taken multiple trips down to Texas and brought back this awesome vintage metal radio flyer. Chase loves it!
Chase really flexed his muscles pushing Grandad around in his chair!
Then Mimi and Grumpy came to visit and we had a blast at the train museum, although I'm not sure if my dad, Brian, or Chase had the most fun.
Brian and I had our last date at my favorite OKC restaurant, Coach House. We can only afford to go once a year, this time I ordered a crab dish. On my plate was a crab. Wasn't quite sure how to eat it...but it was still fun to dress up.
Chase has been quite the little helper for Brian, especially washing his truck, he's game for anything with a water hose.
But he really likes the bubble mower too!
We've been able to catch a few baseball games, but we really just take turns running after Chase. Even so I was so glad to hear that Enid has a minor league baseball team. I also checked to make sure they had a Dillard's and Hobby Lobby.
I've come to realize why people pay ridiculous amounts of money for photographers, it is nearly impossible to get a family shot. I cherish this photo.
Even though he might kill me one day, this is too funny not to share. While Chase totally knows what to do on the potty seat, whether he wants to stop whatever he is doing to go to the potty seat is a different story. But hey at his age I'll take it!
Ok now to the good stuff....chocolate and goodbyes.
I am going to brag about Jan for a minute. We saw this book almost 4 years ago at the museum gift store and this crazy girl was able to find it all this time later! The whole book is pages of black and white pictures from the 40's and 50's of ballrooms, ballgowns, ballroom dancing, ballroom food, etc. I can't get enough of it. Not to mention the luncheon was at my favorite tea room! I've gone almost every week since they've been open. Jan, Julieanne, and Erin you gals did an amazing job.
I am so thankful for this wonderful group of women that I have been blessed to know and can't imagine what my life will be like without them. (tear)
I'll have a really splendid book to go back through and a yummy herb to take with me, if I don't kill it of course.
I even had my last OSC function last night, you gotta love bingo. My experience with the OSC here was beyond amazing and completely shattered all the rumors and misconceptions I'd had. I can't wait to see what Vance has in store for us. I won't have to wait long, movers come on Monday!
Looking back on our whole ABM journey I know that we are exactly were God has planned for us to be. I have learned to trust in His timing and purpose, made life long friends, and feel prepared to help Brian do what he's always longed to do. I think Chase is already brainwashed.
