North to Alaska

Day One: Well really day 3 but day 1 with our super ghetto rental car with cigarette burns on the front seat. Hey don't judge, have you even rented a car in July in Alaska? It was four times the amount of my plane ticket!
Chase and I got to spend lots of time together without Brian due to his crazy schedule but we found lots of fun things to do and got to see some of our good friends. We headed out to the zoo on one of the prettiest days.

I love this one. He's my little buddy.

He spent lots of time in this stroller.

I couldn't get enough of this ugly guy, made me think of a Dr. Suess character. He was even uglier in person. This was our first moose sighting, followed by one on the highway, and one at the park. We wouldn't have left Alaska without seeing a moose.

Here's the moose in the park, can you see him? To my husbands dismay I was screaming "DON'T GO ANY CLOSER WITH THE BABY!" and to my horror he's holding Chase trying to run forward throwing his arm back "QUICK GIVE ME THE CAMERA!" I saw enough signs about angry moose and bears to know that we could get trampled or eaten. I went for a walk with Chase at this same park a few days earlier and told my friend that if she hadn't heard from me by that night to send out a search party because we were dead. Luckily that day I did not see animals but only bear droppings. They're huge.

  1. I'm happy you saw some moose, meese, whatever, even though one was behind a chain-link fence. I mean, seeing a mama moose with a baby moose completely in the wild is, like, a once in a lifetime experience, but not all of us can be so lucky... ;)
