To the Victor Go the Spoils!

On Thursday I casually mentioned to the new TRS commander some of the spouses were interested in playing CRUD sometime. Within 24 hours we had a team together and entered into the all-male squadrons tournament we previously knew nothing about. Out of four, only two got practice in yesterday and none of us had played since Florida. BIG thank you to S.O. and Mules for teaching us the rules inside and out so we could beat the returning champions, made even sweeter that one of them had made a few comments about the wives participating. And not only did we win, we hammered them! First game of the tournament and we solidified our reputation. Poor commander of the 960th asked us to beat everyone so he wouldn't hear crap from everyone else, but sadly we lost in the next round to an excellent team. Everyone, except our victims, were incredibly supportive of us and glad to see us involved because historically very few wives even attended. The TRS commander Lt Col Evans was great from the start and really went out on a limb to get us in, thankfully it paid off. He came up to shake our hands and we all walked away with a coin! Apparently its a big deal. The OG commander was just as excited, going out of his way to make sure we felt welcome. Later in the night we were told to go see Col Carpenter and as he shook our hands we all walked with...another coin! Apparently this was an even bigger deal, his coins are numbered and a log is kept of each coin and who recieved it for what. All in all, I'm ready to buy a pool table and move it into the living room. Ladies, great game tonight, look forward to the next one!

And for the record, I could coin my husband and he would have to buy me a drink.
